The Vintages Trailer Resort’s May Uncorked Series Honors Oregon Wine Month

by | Apr 16, 2024

Every Friday in May, The Vintages will host a different boutique wine producer

Dayton, Ore. (April 16, 2024) — As part of the hotel’s celebration of Oregon Wine Month, The Vintages Trailer Resort will host five wineries —Cliff Creek Cellars, Analemma Wines, Troon Vineyard, Hooray For You Wine Co., and Ribbon Ridge Winery —as part of the Uncorked Wine Series on Fridays this May. Friday stays during the month will include a complimentary evening wine reception at The Vintages’ private, Midcentury Modern Clubhouse, featuring a winemaker from around Oregon and the chance to taste the highlighted winery’s current releases, many of which are only available locally and made in limited quantities.

When selecting wineries for the second year of this partnership, General Manager Zachary Jones wanted to highlight Oregon’s diverse winemaking regions, choosing producers to represent not just the Willamette Valley, but also wineries from the Columbia River Gorgeurban wineries from Portland proper, and wines from southern Oregon’s Umpqua, Rogue, and Applegate Valleys

“Oregon’s winemaking landscape is wide and diverse, and while the Willamette Valley gets a lot of national attention and acclaim, it was important to us to show off the exceptional wines and winemakers from other regions of the state as well in honor of Oregon Wine Month,” he said.

The full schedule of featured wineries set to appear at The Vintages in May is included below.

Oregon Wine Month Pouring Schedule

Friday, 5/3: Cliff Creek Cellars
Cliff Creek Cellars crafts wines from Sams Valley Vineyard located just northeast of Gold Hill, Oregon in Jackson County, along the bend of the Rogue River. They run a family-owned wine farm that in addition to grapes raises cattle and grows a variety of grass, hay, and alfalfa on their 230-plus acres. The warm, dry conditions in the Rogue Valley provide an excellent environment for hearty red wine varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah, so fans of bold red wines won’t want to miss this night in the series!

Friday, 5/10: Analemma Wines
Analemma is a Biodynamic grower-producer, nestled in the Mosier Valley of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Co-founders Steven Thompson and Kris Fade lead their teams in careful farming and meticulous winemaking to craft diverse and delicious wines from 100% Columbia Gorge fruit grown on the hillsides of the mighty Columbia River Gorge.

Friday, 5/17: Troon Vineyard
Troon Vineyard “farms like the world depends on it,” which is the slogan of the Regenerative Organic Alliance, of which Troon is the fourth U.S. farm to earn its coveted Gold status. Located on the Kubli Bench, high above the Applegate River in the Siskiyou Mountains of Southern Oregon, Troon Vineyard is a biodiverse farm of almost 100 acres where cider apples, a vegetable garden, re-wilded honeybees, sheep, chickens, wildlife, dogs, humans and, of course, grapevines, thrive. Guests of this evening in the series will get a chance to taste unique wines made via natural fermentation, or with native yeasts.

Friday, 5/24: Hooray For You Wine Co.
Co-owners and winemakers Gregory Cantu and Christopher Sky became friends while working as maitre d’s at the International Pinot Noir Celebration (IPNC) in McMinnville. Both prominent Portland restaurant sommeliers, the duo decided to make wine together over a bottle of rosé one night, and the next day, they’d secured a ton of Cabernet Franc grapes and a corner of a friend’s winery where they could make them into wine. The rest is history!

Friday 5/31: Ribbon Ridge Winery with Winemaker Wynne Peterson-Nedry
A multi-generational family winery located in the northern Willamette Valley, Ridgecrest Vineyard was founded in 1980 and first planted in 1982. The first vines were planted on what is now the prestigious Ribbon Ridge AVA. Winemaker Wynne Peterson-Nedry, daughter of founder and winemaker Harry Peterson-Nedry, crewed and cellared in vineyards and wineries all over the world, from Burgundy to New Zealand. Wynne was head winemaker at Chehalem until 2018, when she decided to put her whole hand into the RR Wines fingerprint. She brings youth and cutting-edge technique to the table, the perfect foil to her dad’s, deep understanding of the vineyard he planted. Wynne will be pouring in-person for the finale of the Uncorked series!

Friday wine receptions will be held from 5-7pm at The Vintages Trailer Resort (16205 SE Kreder Road, Dayton, OR 97114) Clubhouse and will be open to overnight guests of the hotel only.
