The Inaugural Portland Bubbles Week

by | Apr 25, 2013

Popping the cork on Portland Bubbles Week

Pop, fizz, bubble. That’s the sound of a celebration starting and in Portland that is exactly the sound you’re going to hear from May 6 to 12.

Pulling the cork for its first year ever is Portland Bubbles Week, a city-wide celebration of sparkling wine put on by the renowned Argyle Winery. With a series events taking place throughout the week, the folks at Argyle are bringing out the bubbles to show people it doesn’t need to be a formal event to cheers a flute of sparkling delightfulness.

Corks will begin to fly May 6 at 6 pm in the Ace Hotel’s event space, The Cleaners. Take an exclusive workshop with the man who makes the top sparkling wine in the U.S., Argyle Winery’s Nate Klostermann and friends.

On May 9, reel in the days with fresh seafood dinners and a glass of chilled brut. At The Parish, prepare yourself for an unlikely oyster and sparkles pairing along with a competition to see which local chef whips up the best mignonette sauce. If oyster pairing didn’t surprise you enough, the following night will feature a Farm to Fork event, the Bubbles & Roe dinner. Put on at a secret location, this exclusive event will have seafood prepared by Chef Dustin Clark of Wildwood.

Wrapping up the week will be the truly celebratory day – Mother’s Day. Raven & Rose and The Benson Hotel will host those special ladies for a little Sunday afternoon brunch bubbles tasting on May 12.

For interesting stops throughout the week, pop by Salt & Straw ice cream to try the limited edition Argyle brut sorbet or attend one of the many Argyle bubbles tastings taking place in various locations around Portland. Many of these events require reservations or tickets. To see the full list of events, times and ticket prices go here.
