JOIN US FOR THE SUN VALLEY CENTER WINE AUCTION 2012!

For 30 years the Sun Valley Center Wine Auction has been one of the premier summer events in the resort community of Sun Valley Idaho. It all started in 1981, after The Center’s founder, Glenn Janss, visited her vintner friends in Napa Valley for their first charity wine auction. Glenn brought the brilliant idea home , and from its humble beginnings as an afternoon event in someone’s backyard, it has evolved into a fun-filled, three-day celebration of wine and the arts, enjoyed by locals and visitors. Wine Spectator magazine has frequently ranked it as one of the top 10 charity wine auctions in the country.

ALL proceeds from the Wine Auction support the Sun Valley Center for the Arts programs, educational outreach and scholarship fund. That means…

• Free educational programs for K-12 students

• Scholarships for students and teachers to pursue advanced study in the arts… over $564,000 awarded since 1999

• World-class concerts and lectures made affordable to all

• A nationally-accredited museum with rotating exhibitions free-of-charge

• Classes and workshops for adults and children at deeply discounted prices

• And the list goes on…

Over the years, the Wine Auction proceeds have represented between 30% to 50% of The Center’s annual budget. We all owe a huge thank you to the Wine Auction patrons and the vintners who so generously donate wines, dinners, trips and more to support the arts in this community.
