Recipe: Rosemary & Vine Tonic with OOLA Rosemary Vodka

by | Apr 26, 2018

Named after “the greatest German Shepherd who ever lived,” OOLA Distillery in Seattle has become a Pacific Northwest favorite, producing small-batch, handcrafted spirits since 2010. The award-winning selection includes a refreshing array of flavored vodkas, a barrel-finished gin and a savory, smoked whiskey. The Rosemary vodka is an ideal choice for this refreshing cocktail. With a beautiful pale green color, it is infused with rosemary that is harvested by hand for peak flavor. A wonderful balance of the fresh, herbal and citrus peel flavors of Tuscan blue rosemary and the clean expectation of a truly artisan vodka.

Herbalicious rosemary vodka and an easy-to-make Chardonnay Tonic Syrup give a unique edge to this classic. Serve in oversized wine glasses or brandy snifters.

Rosemary & Vine Tonic
Makes 1 cocktail

2 ounces of OOLA Rosemary Vodka
2 ounces Wine Tonic Syrup (recipe follows)
1 ounce soda water
Garnish: rosemary sprig, lime wheel

Fill an oversized wine glass half way full with ice. Measure in the vodka, Wine Tonic Syrup and soda water. Garnish with rosemary and lime.

Wine Tonic Syrup
Makes 12 ounces, enough for 6 cocktails

1 cup tonic water
1 cup Chardonnay
¼ cup honey
¼ cup lime juice
2 teaspoons lime zest

Combine the tonic water and Chardonnay in a small saucepan over high heat. Bring to a quick boil and reduce by half, about 1 cup. Once reduced, remove from heat and cool for 5 minutes then stir in the honey, lime juice and zest. Store refrigerated for up to 7 days.
