Cider Riot! Rudy’s Cranberry Hibiscus

by | Dec 15, 2015

Innovative Portland cider mutineer Abram Goldman-Armstrong first released Cider Riot! in a two-liter soda jug. Goldman-Armstrong came of age in the industry, planting traditional cider trees in an Oregon orchard as a high school gig. His roots were planted then and there, leading him to traveling around the traditional cider world to learn and drink more—including in Cork City, Ireland, where he chugged scrumpy from plastic two-liters not unlike the “action growlers” he uses to bottle his holiday release, Rudy’s Cranberry Hibiscus cider.

Encouraging the wearing of a “festive cardigan” while consuming, the bottle of Rudy’s is not only donning a sweater-clad Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer, but has the gleaming red tint of the season in the cider itself. Made with cold-pressed Northwest cranberry juice from the organic producer Starvation Alley Farms (read more about them here), Cider Riot! also takes Mexican hibiscus flowers to the local apple base for a fruity, floral flair to the juicy yet tangy and bone-dry cider.
