“Feeling anxious?” the barista asked me when I ordered a chamomile tea on a cloudless Thursday afternoon at Zoka Coffee Roasters‘ in Seattle’s Green Lake neighborhood. I wasn’t—but my stomach apparently was. I’ve come to rely on chamomile instead of TUMS as of late to ease stomach acids, and yes, relieve stress ultimately. Zoka Coffee Roasters might be best known for their—you guessed it!—coffee but the “& Tea Co.” is still part of the title. Although they are not growing their own tea leaves (you can count those who do in the Northwest on one hand), they are concocting their own blends and recipes for herbal remedies, like appeasing an angry digestive organ. The Chamomile is an herbal, caffeine-free tea that is known for its soothing and calming warm results from sipping, robust in floral and sweet herbs to sing you sweetly into stress release.
