SipFest: A Barn Bash in Issaquah

by | May 7, 2013

Barnyard beverages at SipFest

With all the sunny weather spreading it’s way through the Pacific Northwest lately, grills are firing up, cold drinks are being poured and social gatherings are moving outside. Hopefully this weather will stick around just long enough for everyone to make it to at least one more event.

Coming back on May 11 to Issaquah, Wash. is the annual SipFest. Starting at 6:30 pm, the barn gates of the Pickering Barn, across the street from Costco, will open for an evening with 40 local breweries, wineries and restaurants. Proceeds from the event will support Encompass, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help care for developmentally challenged children, enrich a family’s diversity and encourage communities in the greater eastside of Seattle.

Just to name a few of the local attendees offering samples at SipFest is Wine & Spirits magazine’s 2011 winery of the year Sparkman Cellars, Redmond’s own Mac & Jack’s Brewing Company and many more.

Restaurants such as Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzeria, Firebird Chocolate and Wildfin American Grill will be cooking up in the barn to give folks something to snack on. To see the full list of participating vendors, check here.

Tickets to the evening’s festivities are $50 and include a souvenir glass, a tasting notes booklet and all your evening’s tastings. Purchases are available here. For those playing the night’s designated driver, tickets will be available for $25 at the event.
