Ryan Patrick 2013 Reserve Chardonnay

by | Dec 2, 2015

As charming as the village its tasting room lies in, Leavenworth, Washington-based Ryan Patrick Vineyards prides itself on providing award-winning wines to its Bavarian-themed community and beyond. With a vineyard located on Washington’s newest AVA, the Ancient Lakes of Columbia Valley, the winemakers take advantage of the unique, cool climate and high elevations to craft Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon and a variety of red blends.

The 2013 Reserve Chardonnay takes a much more detailed route to completion than its affable Naked Chardonnay sibling. The Reserve was aged on the lees for six months, with each barrel being stirred once a week until malolactic fermentation was completed then stirred monthly for a rich texture and creamy mouthful of Washington Chardonnay. Tropical notes of pineapple and mango reflect the ripeness guaranteed of fruit from Bacchus Vineyard, while warm notes of sweet vanilla cream contribute to a smooth finish with a lick of acid.
