Boy, Seattle is sure in for a frosty treat next weekend. The Washington Brewers Guild is spoiling the city again with its annual two-day Winter Beer Fest. Check your planner and make sure you’re free on Friday, December 5 at 5-9pm and Saturday, December 6 at 12-4pm and 5:30-9:30pm. For the second year in a row, the festival will be held at the historic Hanger 30 building—located just north of Seattle, on the shores of Lake Washington at Warren G. Magnuson Park.
Most of the festival’s 130 beers and ciders from 50 Washington breweries and cideries are winter-inspired brews. Highlights include Stoup Brewing’s Winter Warmer, Kulshan Brewing’s Kitten Mittens Winter Ale, a Snipes Mountain’s cranberry and apple wheat saison called Winter Valley and Scuttlebutt’s Cinnamon Coconut Porter.
The full list of beers is so long your hand might cramp up just scrolling through it all. After doing a few finger exercises, you can check it out here.
All this beer will probably stir up your appetite for some grub. Also present at the festival will be various food trucks, Theo Chocolates will be sampling chocolate and Taylor Fish Farms will be sampling oysters—the latter two should pair well with rich winter beers.
Tickets can be purchased in advance for $25 at Brown Paper Tickets, or for $30 at the door if any are still available. The admission price gets you a commemorative 5 ounce tasting glass and six tokens for a sample pour. Feeling like a kid in a candy shop and a measly six glasses won’t cut it? Additional tokens can will be available for $1.50 each.
