In Preview: Seattle Wine & Food Experience

by | Jan 26, 2015

Seattle seems to be getting an early start on summer food festivals. Now in its seventh year running, the city will again host the Seattle Wine & Food Experience on February 22 at the Seattle Center.

The SWFE is first and foremost a tasting event of regional foods and beverages for the 21+ crowd, so show up hungry, thirsty and adventurous. Want to sample wine and spirits but don’t want to search for a poor sap designated driver to take you home afterwards? No problem, spitting into a bucket is perfectly acceptable here.

In fact, your only major concern should be where to start. Expected to be in attendance are about 50 food vendors, about 120 wineries/distilleries/cideries and dozens of other exhibitors, most of which are offering multiple samples. Check out Duke’s Chowder House’s herb-encrusted salmon, Frolik!’s duck confit taco, Biscuit Box’s flakey and buttery biscuits and Top Pot’s doughnuts. Then wash it all down with wine from Columbia Winery or Mercer Wines, cider from 2Towns Ciderhouse, beer from Ninkasi Brewing, spirits from Bainbridge Distillers and Hood River Distillers, and countless others!

And don’t forget to stop by and say hi to Sip! We will have our own set-up we’re calling the Distillery Walk where you can try some craft spirit highlights of the Northwest region and we’ll also educate you on the process of how they’re made, from grain to bottle.

Tickets are already on sale and can be purchased from Brown Paper Tickets here with a few options available ranging from $55—125. For more information about the event and a full list of vendors, check out the official website here.
