James Beard Foundation Taste America Seattle

by | Sep 10, 2015

A night of award-winning food and some of Washington’s best wine will be featured on October 2, as the James Beard Foundation (JBF) will hosts a dinner as part of its “Taste America” tour. At both the Space Needle and Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle, the dinner will feature a menu put together by four award-winning chefs who will utilize locally sourced food and will be paired with Washington-made wine.

The JBF is a foundation dedicated to celebrating the diversity and excellence in today’s modern gastronomic world. They are the Grammys of the food scene, giving out awards to the very best and the most innovative minds working with food and beverages.

The headlining chef, culinary mastermind and TV cooking personality Tyler Florence, will be working with local Seattle chefs— Thierry Rautureau of the Chef in the Hat ventures, pastry guru Neil Robertson of Crumble & Flake Patisserie and host chef Jeff Maxfield of the Space Needle’s Sky City—to create a menu that highlights the rich culinary culture that Seattle has to offer.

Throughout the four-course meal, dinner will be paired with a handpicked wine that is produced within the state. These wines will showcase the ability and skill that our finest wineries posses, while complimenting the main course. In addition to wine, local distillers will pour at the the cocktail party that will take place before the dinner is held and nosh will be provided by innovative cooks like James Beard Award winners Maxime Bilet of Imagine Food Innovation Group and Eric Tanaka of Tom Douglas Restaurants.

The tickets to this event are going fast, as all but the VIP All-Star ticket have sold out. The cocktail and reception will begin at 6:30 pm and dinner will be held at 8:00 pm. More information about JBF can be found here, as well as information about their Taste America tour.
