Georgetown Brewing Double Ramme

by | Sep 25, 2014

Fremont Oktoberfest celebrated its 18th year at the center of the “brewniverse” this weekend, with festivities spanning from a cloudy Friday through a much sunnier Sunday. Fremonsters, Seattleites and visitors from across the region turned up in spades for a taste of the Germanic festivities.

Just as naturally, my festival favorite was a full-on German style beer. Georgetown Brewing Company’s Double Ramme Doppelbock has a beautifully autumnal caramel-red color and all the raisin, currant and dark dry fruit flavors characteristic of the style, with a hint of chocolate to be found tied up in the rich malty finish. At 8.1% ABV, it’s the perfect way to warm up for the oncoming fall. Prost!
