First-Annual Great American Wine Festival

by | Oct 25, 2013

Drink wine and be merry at the first annual Great American Wine Festival on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Double Tree Hotel in Portland, Ore. Running in conjunction with the Wine Tourism Conference and partnered with the Northwest Food & Wine Festival, wine lovers will revel as they taste from 200 featured wineries from across the country.

Montana-based Zephyr Adventures, renowned for a variety of internationally recognized wine-based events, has organized this inaugural festival of fermentation as an extension of the Wine Tourism Conference taking place in Portland on Friday, Nov. 15. With wineries from around the states already in town, why not extend the celebration with an evening tasting from a wide selection of wines, including varietals not available in the Portland market?

Guests of the Great American Wine Festival will enjoy sampling wines from more than 25 regions, including New York’s Finger Lakes, Ohio, Missouri, California, Washington, Ontario and more. In addition to these wines of distinction, guests may also choose to purchase a combination ticket which will admit them to the Northwest Food & Wine Festival taking place simultaneously nextdoor.

Featuring a menu inspired by the Pacific Northwest, the Northwest Food & Wine Festival will kick-off with the Big Grand Wine Tasting event and follow-up with a variety of gourmet food, live music and more. Both the Great American Wine Festival and Northwest Food & Wine Festival begin at 4pm on Saturday, Nov. 16, and run until 8pm. Wine and food enthusiasts interested in attending both events may purchase a combination ticket for $95 per person, or be a VIP and get early admission to both events for only $20 more.
