Redhook Winterhook

by | Oct 24, 2013

For 29 years, Woodinville, Wash.’s Redhook Brewery has been brewing their Winterhook seasonal ale, each year updating the recipe for its own original version. With the new bottle package makeover that launched last year, Winterhook is all dressed up in a snowy cardigan, ready for its ugly sweater party presentation—along with an “UGH or FUG” sweater contest on Facebook that kicks off in November. Beer lovers can enter and vote on the most “visually repellant” holiday sweaters at Facebook.com/RedhookAleBrewery. The winning sweater will be featured at Redhook Brewery and its owner gets a $500 bar tab which ain’t too shabby, even if the winning sweater is. The Winterhook beer itself is dressed in aromas of molasses, cola, sweet rye bread and mint, the palate reciprocates with a crisp, medium-body that is roasty with rye and coffee.
