Officially, Seattle has yet to found a cidery within city limits since Prohibition. That is until this Saturday when Seattle Cider Company released their inaugural, small-batch ciders produced solely from all natural ingredients and Washington state apples. From Joel VandenBrink and his team at Two Beers Brewing Co. in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood, Seattle Cider is also hosting a launch party at their brewpub tasting room, The Woods, from 2—7 pm on Saturday, pouring their kick-off line-up of a dry cider, semi sweet cider, a seasonal Pumpkin Spice cider and a specially crafted gin botanical cider on draft. The Semi Sweet is just that—fruity with apparent apple and pear tones while the palate is audacious with big red apple, finishing crisp with an inkling of honeysuckle.
