Blasted Church OMG 2011 Sparkling Wine

by | Sep 2, 2015

Blasted Church is not a winery of conformity. With creative, edgy and borderline controversial animation decorating the bottle labels, this Okanagan Valley winery pushes the boundaries of thought-provoking creativity by drawing inspiration from religious themes, and well, really great wine. Their Holy Moly 2012 Pinot Noir just recently won one of the 2015 Governor’s Awards for Excellence in British Columbia Wines.

The Blasted Church OMG 2011 Sparkling Wine pours a subtle light salmon color with a beautiful, soft effervescent crackle and delicate aromas that make you want to sing into the glass of bubbly. This sip from the Okanagan Valley is a classical méthode champenoise blend of 45 percent Pinot Noir, 45 percent Chardonnay and then 10 percent Pinot Blanc. The clean and crisp wine has a berry-tinted nose. The age and the bulk of flavor comes out in the wine’s finish, which is bright and festively fizzy.
