Port Townsend Boatyard Bitter

by | Aug 29, 2013

ESBs do not get the respect they deserve. They are bitter but not too hoppy, colorful but not too dark or light, lower in carbonation, malty but not too toasty… They are extra specially balanced, but not often particularly special. Port Townsend Brewing Company‘s Boatyard Bitter is different, it is quite special. Albeit balanced, the bitterness is prevalent, along with the caramel and toffee flavored malts and easy citrus hops to satisfy a hop-head and appease a malt nut.
