In Preview: Oregon Craft Beer Month

Grab your growlers and get ready Oregon, July first marks the beginning of the state wide 31-day beer extravaganza, Oregon Craft Beer Month, the 2015 edition. More than 450 events will host both brewers and consumers alike as the state overflows with some of the best beer that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

The celebration will take over pubs, restaurants and breweries alike. Take a behind the scenes tour at Portland Brewing. Pucker up at Belmont Station’s aptly-named Puckerfest, a celebration of sour beers from July 14-20, or stop by White Owl Social Club’s second annual Lagerfest on July 19 and 20, where 67 breweries will feature their favorite lager selects. Still looking for something to do on the Fourth? Head over to Worthy Brewing at 6:30 pm for their Fourth of July party on the patio.

The month-long beer bonanza all leads up to the 28th Annual Oregon Brewers Festival at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Portland, July 22-26. More than 90 breweries from all over the nation will be serving roughly 30 different types of beer. Entrance to the event is free of charge, but we all know why we are there. A $7, one time purchase 14-ounce souvenir glass is required for all tastings. Wooden tokens can be purchased for a dollar a piece; one will get you a taste, four will get you a glass-full. This event is cash only, and eight ATMs will be set up throughout the venue.
