Thomas Kemper Soda Co. Ginger Ale

by | Oct 13, 2014

It all started with a small batch of handcrafted root beer. When original founders and namesakes Andy Thomas and Will Kemper first poured their creation 24 years ago, it was merely a nonalcoholic “root” option to the reason for the season at a Poulsbo, Washington Oktoberfest. Before long, Thomas Kemper Soda Co.‘s Root Beer stole center stage in the regional craft soda scene, and the company was eventually sold to Pyramid Brewing before operating under its current ownership in Portland.

Today, Thomas Kemper Soda brewers are bottling an extensive lineup of flavors beyond the flagship root beer, each sweetened with pure cane sugar and pure Northwest honey. Among the company’s four classic offerings, the Ginger Ale stands out as a light, refreshing and finely effervescent option. The distinct bite of fresh ginger is rounded out by mild honey sweetness, and the combination pulls out all the stops of a classic ginger ale without the cloying aftertaste of big-brands served during complimentary in-flight beverage service.

As for original brewmaster Will Kemper? Head north to Bellingham, Washington to taste his latest beer creations at Chuckanut Brewery and Kitchen.
