Get Experience: Seattle Wine & Food Experience

by | Feb 19, 2013

There’s a reason living in a city like Seattle is exciting: there’s more to experience — in food and drink alone, and to say nothing of art, music or recreation — than anyone could take in without dedicating their life to it. That’s not just in Seattle, but also region-wide. It’s the reason our magazine exists!

With a new eatery opening every other week and our beverage industries exploding with unprecedented growth, the flip side of such a constantly changing landscape is that it can be hard to keep up. As mentioned in our roundup of 2013 events to watch for and earlier this year, the fifth annual Seattle Wine and Food Experience is happening this weekend. As a premier Northwest wine and food showcase, SWFE is your chance to catch up with the latest trends in dining and drinking state-wide, providing a cheat sheet of everything you’ve been meaning to try but haven’t gotten to yet.

If you haven’t visited places like Local 360, Barking Frog, Andaluca and many more, now’s the time to graze without reservations. Head to the beer and cider exhibit and pretend the apple, pear and apricot ciders count toward your three-a-day servings of fruit. Savor vintages from as near as Woodinville and as far as Italy (you may even find a few meads while you’re at it!). Drop by the Distillery Square that Sip Northwest is sponsoring, taste hazelnut-espresso vodka from Bendistillery, and compare Bainbridge Organic Distillers’ and broVo’s takes on Douglas fir-infused liquors. Don’t forget to come by our booth to say hello!

With a 3,200 square-foot casino in the exhibition hall, live music and an array of exhibitors, there won’t be a dull moment. Tickets are on sale now, $55 for the whole day. Ticket sales benefit the Giving Grapes Foundation and Big Table. Doors open at noon, and we’ll be the first ones in line.

Sunday, February 24 || Noon—5:00 pm || Seattle Center Exhibition Hall, 300 Mercer Street || Buy tickets here
